By wearing a pronoun badge you might be saying "my gender identity is important to me". Or, you might be signalling "your gender identity is important to me” and “this is a safe space".

Behind the collection

I’m passionate about making pronoun badges because as a non-binary person, I understand the power of being seen for who you truly are. But, pronoun badges are not just for gender diverse individuals. Anyone can wear them in an act of allyship - as a way to create safe, inclusive spaces for everyone. 

When I started making these badges, it struck me that many pronoun badges out there are very generic. But gender identity is so personal and unique to the person. That’s why I wanted to develop a range of badges that are as diverse and special as the people who wear them.

Each badge and pin is handmade with love, premium materials, and unwavering devotion to supporting inclusion, safety and respect for all. Because these batches are made in small runs, no two batches or badges are ever exactly the same. 

In a world where representation matters more than ever, these badges are about more than just stating your pronouns - they're about celebrating the beautiful diversity of human identity while fostering inclusive communities.
How are these made?

Each badge is carefully crafted using artist-grade resin that's food-safe and maintains color vibrancy. Specially selected and mixed pigments create distinctive and dazzling designs. Long-lasting glow-in-the-dark powder charges in natural or artificial light.

Because of this production method, there are slight variations in colour, glitter distribution, and glow intensity. Some designs are one-off runs and others may be produced again, but even when I try to repeat designs each batch will have slight differences making each batch and badge unique.

Please note: I use UV resin to attach the stainless steel back on the brooch. This is because this method is stronger than glue, which means your badge or pin will be more durable. But, UV resin is hard to control, which means it doesn’t stay where you put it as the piece cures. As a result, this can cause slight irregularities where the brooch back is attached. Think of this as extra proof the piece is handmade.

Materials: 

  • Artist grade, foodsafe resin (both UV and epoxy)
  • Various pigments and inks
  • Various types of glitter
  • Tarnish resistant stainless steel backs - a mix of brooch closure and pin designs
  • Pre-made brooch bases made of plastic, stainless steel or alloys (only for some designs).  
How do I style/wear it?

You can wear your pronoun badge wherever you like! They’re usually worn on a shirt, jumper, jacket or lanyard.

Pronoun badges work best when they're easily visible at conversational distance. The key is ensuring others can see and read them easily. Pin them on jackets and blazers or the upper chest area where they'll be naturally noticed during conversations.

The smaller pins are light enough to pin on shirts and thinner fabrics, while the larger 3.7cm badges will likely work best on thicker fabrics, outerwear, jackets, and bags. Please be careful when considering pinning anything to knitwear, as it could damage the threads. 

For workplace and event settings, attach your badge to lanyards so you don't have to remember to pin and unpin from different outfits. 
How should care for it?

3.7cm Badges - 🛡️ Heavyweight Heroes with High Durability: 

These badges are built for constant contact with real life. Shower, sleep, sweat tested - these champions should be able to handle almost anything you throw at them. Generally resistant to perfumes, lotions, and most cleaning products. Clean with mild soap and water when needed using the complimentary jewellery cleaning cloth. Store at room temperature in the complementary storage bag to prevent scratching. Avoid extreme heat and direct sunlight storage (resin may discolor). 

Rhinestone Pins - 💎 Precious Things That Need Mindful Care: 

These delicate pieces need extra attention due to their rhinestone details and brooch bases. Remove before showering, swimming, or exercising. The brooch bases have a beautiful appearance but aren't as durable as stainless steel. Clean gently with the complimentary cleaning cloth after each wear - never soak or use harsh cleaners. Store separately in the complementary storage bag away from other jewellery to avoid scratching. 

Glow Maintenance: 

Charge under a light or torch to enhance glow strength for all glow-in-the-dark designs. The glow-in-the-dark properties may fade naturally over time or with extended use.
Is there a deeper meaning or symbolism?

Creating Safe Spaces:

Wearing a pronoun badge helps normalise conversations about pronouns. It creates safe spaces for gender diverse individuals and can be an act of allyship that reduces assumptions and encourages respectful communication. 

Glow in the Dark Elements:

Despite the progress the LGBTQIA+ rights movement has made in recent decades, trans and gender diverse individuals in our community are facing a resurgence of outdated, uniformed discrimination and small-minded prejudice.

I made a range of glow in the dark pronoun badges so our community can celebrate their uniqueness and let their inner truth shine, even when things feel like they're at their darkest.

These luminous designs serve as a reminder that pride started as a protest, and that small acts of everyday resistance can help to preserve our right to authentic self expression and spread hope instead of hate.
